The call to action

It is very likely that the contemporary police officer will be confronted with the need to provide life saving maneuvers while at the same time making tactically appropriate decisions. It is not reasonable to expect the best in decision making from police officers without providing them with the necessary training. The International Association of Chiefs of Police recommends self-aid/buddy-aid be implemented as a fundamental part of LE training. Are your officers up to the task

The response

The Medical Tactics Course is an eight hour practical and didactic training module designed to give officers the mindset and skills necessary to assess and manage trauma in tactical situations. Designed by Dr. Andrew Dennis, Cook County Trauma Surgeon and Police Veteran, Medical Tactics for Law Enforcement is the first course of it's kind developed specifically for patrol officers with little or no prior medical training.

four core concepts

Mindset

Proven techniques to prepare your mind and control your physiology, allowing you to harness your adrenaline for effective decision making in the field.

Ballistics

A crash course in the fundamentals of the science of penetrating trauma. Separate medical fact from fiction to learn when, if ever, you or an assailant are out of the fight.

Assessment and Intervention

The guide to balancing medical vs. mission priorities in the field. A stream-lined rubric for remote casualty assessment, and hands-on training in recognizing and stabilizing those injuries that must be controlled immediately.

Approaches and Escapes

How to safely plan, prepare, and execute casualty extraction without exposing the rescuers to undue risk, or further injuring the wounded.
